I don't have any professional expertise in IT though. I work in Philanthropy and my first degree was Philosophy.

I dress awfully though and go out straight from work often. Still the truth is it is your face and confidence that does it. Grooming and style might have been a +1 for me but it is nothing compared with getting into the right circles/scene.
